John Sandston
John has served as the Honorary Solicitor for the Tākaka Hill Biodiversity Group Trust since 2020. With a distinguished legal career spanning more than three decades, he continues to practice as a Nelson barrister, bringing extensive expertise and a wealth of experience to the Trust.
Over the years, John has held key roles on numerous boards and organisations across Aotearoa, New Zealand, including a health board, school boards, the New Zealand Rugby Union, and the New Zealand Law Society. Beyond his professional commitments, he enjoys time at his retreat in Honeymoon Bay, Kaiteriteri, and travelling with his wife Katie to visit their three children.
A committed community member and former volunteer at the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary, John’s dedication to service and passion for the environment make him a valued supporter and advisor to the Trust.
