Ellie Kamphuis
Ellie Kamphuis brings passion, creativity, and a fresh perspective to the Tākaka Hill Biodiversity Group Trust. Raised in rural Auckland, she developed a deep connection with nature from an early age, exploring forest remnants on her family’s lifestyle block.
After spending time abroad in Scotland with her husband Charlie, Ellie returned to New Zealand to build an off-grid home on Tākaka Hill. Currently studying psychology and sociology, she offers unique insights into addressing biodiversity decline while contributing innovative ideas to the Trust’s conservation efforts.
Ellie is also a talented artist, musician, and website developer, having played a key role in creating the Trust’s website and logo. Her combination of environmental passion, creative skills, and academic knowledge makes her a valued and committed member of the Trustee team, working towards a more sustainable and biodiverse future for Aotearoa.
