Environment

We strive to do work that raises the bar and sets a high standard for everyone in our industry. One of our recent projects won the award for Innovation or Education to the Erosion & Sediment Control Industry  (Australasian Chapter of the International Erosion Control Association – IECA) last year and is a finalist for a global IECA away this year. Supporting our community

We support a range of community initiatives. The partnership that we have since established with the Tākaka Hill Biodiversity Group Trust highlights our commitment to conservation and biodiversity. We currently work with the Trust to restore native habitats in retired areas of the site, manage pest populations, and monitor vulnerable species. We are also pleased to support the Trust’s Powelliphanta hochstetteri (Giant Land Snail) monitoring programme this year.

The Trust’s extensive work programme deserves additional support from other quarters.

For our part, we highly value the Trust's expertise and high standards in managing ecological projects and see a strong alignment between many of the Trust’s initiatives and our environmental values, ‘Treasure Protect Improve‘. We also see a connection with these remarkable snails, given that we are quarrying limestone, which, of course, has a connection with the calcium carbonate in the snails’ shells.

Together with the Trust, we believe we can make a meaningful impact on the ecological health of Tākaka Hill while continuing to provide essential services to our community. We look forward to our ongoing collaboration with the Trust and to playing our part in supporting a sustainable future for our environment and community.
